Neon and Navy

As I've made it very clear, I have a love/hate relationship with my legs. I'm very fortunate that I'm healthy, but I wouldn't be opposed to trading up for say, Heidi Klums legs {seriously, she gets better with age}.

Shorts are mine {and I have a feeling a lot of yours} worst enemy. Shorts are a working progress in my closet. I thought I would share some of my tips for how I work them into my wardrobe.

1. Bronzer lotion: OK, not fashion related, but take all the help you can get!
2. Size up if necessary: Roll your eyes at me all you want, as my mom always told me, no one will see the tag. My size fit in these shorts, but by sizing up, they sat lower and more confortable on my hips and were slightly longer. Win-Win!
3. Brights: Colors make people look at the shorts and not your legs. Another win! {Grin}
4. Flowy Top: By having a oversized, flowy top, you give the allusion that your legs are skinnier in proportion to your top. I was a doubter, but I've since given it a chance with much success.
5. Heels: I know this isn't always possible. But when you can, dress up your outfit with some heels, they make your legs look longer and leaner and make a great night outfit for going out.

Good luck everyone and I will be the first one to let everyone know when leg transplants are available {I know, I know, I'm crazy}.

On another note...we are inching closer to 50 Google Followers...I might just have a giveaway up my sleeve once we hit it! {hint, hint!!} So tell your friends!

A day at the Lake...

It's been down right sweltering in the Midwest. Usually we spend June complaining about the cold weather and rain to find the mid to end of July crazy hot. This year, we just skipped to the crazy hot, and I've been hiding in the AC most days which is why there has been a lack of outfit updates. I swear I've had great outfits, it's just too hot outside to take the pictures!
I was working the boutique this weekend and my dad and I ventured out into the 100 degree heat to get some pictures by the beautiful Lake Geneva. For anyone who knows the area, it's a hot spot tourist destination for Chicago residents along with people from all over the world.

I've been wearing my fedoras almost every day in this heat, and you would be amazed how great they pair with anything. Plus they keep the sun out :) I paired mine with my amazing backless dress with a bandeau strapless bra, which was super cool and comfortable.

I wore mine boating on Lake Michigan in Chicago the day before with my swim suit. Then with my jean skirt on the 4th. It's almost becoming my staple this summer and I love it!

The heat is suppose to break by Sunday so hopefully I will be back to my posting self after a nice long run in Chicago {10 miles! Yikes! The half is only 2 weeks away!},

Stay cool everyone!

Enjoy!

Paris Chic

It was a HOT one in Milwaukee this weekend. We were in the 90's both days and that's just about 20 degrees higher than my comfort zone. I'm ALWAYS hot. I'm the girl who sleeps with a fan year round and two in the summer {with the A/C on}.
I recently got this dress from Tres Belle Boutique...and I've been thinking for 2 weeks how I was going to style it. I'm in love with Paris or anything related to France and this dress is by Deca Paris and actually comes straight from the city it's self. What more could a girl ask for?! Working at the store this weekend, I managed to get in a break {I'm my family's WORST employee, promise} and get a few pictures around Lake Geneva. My dad was a good sport and photographer :)

Enjoy!
